If there is one main idea in all the systems I have studied, it is the resonant idea of including and transcending. As Rudd says in the 53rd Gene Key: “Expansion is a process of transcending and including.”
Look at the statement structure used at the start of tapping and how it invites us to include and change. EFT, integral theory, Law of Attraction, shadow work, Enneagram, Parenting for a Peaceful World, and the Gene Keys all show us the idea that we include what we have built so far and then we expand beyond it.
I find two paradoxical ways that we shortchange ourselves.
-
We subtly judge and reject our past.
-
We hold onto our past creations and attempt to recreate them again.
Just for today, gently observe what past forms you are still holding onto—a past body, a past job, a past self-image, a past success, a past failure. As you tap, let the underlying energy of your past creations be free; let your current intentions and desires speak to you. No form, just intent.
Tapping
While tapping on the side-of-the-hand points, say:
- As I notice my holding onto this past creation, I deeply and completely accept myself.
- As I notice this particular image in my mind that represents this past idea of success, I deeply and completely accept myself.
- As I remember what I had and what I was, I release my attachment to these past forms with love and appreciation.
The Rounds
Tap three rounds, alternating the following phrases:
- What I had
- Who I was
- I release all attachment
