Doorways to tapping

Finding what to tap on is a common question for folks.  When we are having an intense emotional response to things, we don’t need words.  We are already activated and tapping is all we need.

However, when we are working on more subtle areas of tension, we might find it more difficult to know what to tap on.

One simple model is to think of using different doorways to finding the stress.  Any of the doorways can lead us deeper into what is causing the tension.  And often one doorway leads us to the next layer. The six doorways are:

  • General sense of unease
  • Body sensations
  • Emotions
  • Recent memory
  • Formative, childhood memory
  • Thought

In the podcast dated May 27, I demonstrate tapping using all six lenses.
